Schneider Electric collaborates with NVIDIA for advanced AI solutions
Wed, 20th Mar 2024

Schneider Electric, a global leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has disclosed its strategic collaboration with NVIDIA. The partnership aims to optimise data centre infrastructure and provide groundbreaking advancements in edge artificial intelligence (AI) and digital twin technologies.

Natalya Makarochkina, SVP Secure Power International at Schneider Electric, remarked, "By combining our expertise in data centre solutions with NVIDIA's leadership in AI technologies, we're helping organisations to overcome data centre infrastructure limitations and unlock the full potential of AI. Our collaboration with NVIDIA paves the way for a more efficient, sustainable, and transformative future, powered by AI."

The partnership's first materialisation, the AI data centre reference designs, promises to redefine the benchmarks for AI deployment and operation within data centre environments. The designs are structured to optimise processing resources simultaneously balancing performance, scalability, and energy efficiency.

Makarochkina further added, "We're unlocking the future of AI for organisations. Our collaboration provides innovative data centre reference designs tailored for NVIDIA's accelerated computing clusters, meeting needs across data processing, engineering simulation, electronic design automation, computer-aided drug design, and generative AI."

Amid rising global AI applications, the demand for advanced computing power has steeply risen. With data centres facing increasing complexity, brands like Schneider Electric and NVIDIA aim to enable efficient, stable data centre facilities that can align with evolving AI-powered solutions, thereby revolutionising aspects like deployment efficiency and lifecycle operation.

Ian Buck, Vice President of Hyperscale and HPC at NVIDIA, stated, "Through our collaboration with Schneider Electric, we're providing AI data centre reference designs using next-generation NVIDIA accelerated computing technologies. This provides organisations with the necessary infrastructure to tap into the potential of AI, driving innovation and digital transformation across industries."

In the next phase, Schneider Electric's subsidiary AVEVA will connect its digital twin platform with NVIDIA Omniverse to create a unified environment for virtual simulation and collaboration. Caspar Herzberg, CEO of AVEVA, pointed out, "Together, we are creating a fully simulated industrial virtual reality where you can simulate processes, model outcomes, and effect change in reality. This merging of digital intelligence and real-world outcomes has the potential to transform how industries can operate more safely, more efficiently, and more sustainably."

With this ambitious roadmap, Schneider Electric and NVIDIA demonstrate their commitment to driving positive change through technology. The collaboration stand as industry leaders in their respective fields, paving the way for a more digitally inclusive and sustainable landscape in the near future.
