Schneider Electric and AVEVA team up, target hyperscale data centre market

Schneider Electric and AVEVA have extended their partnership with the shared intention of delivering solutions for the hyperscale data centre market.

AVEVA’s Unified Operations Centre scalable industrial software offering will be combined with Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure for Data Centres, the control and monitoring capabilities used for visibility to everyday operations.

According to a statement from the pair, the joint solutions are designed to provide an overview of engineering, operations, and performance across a legacy installed base.

It also enables hyperscale data centre providers the ability to connect platforms and data sets that previously existed in disparate systems, and enables them to scale regardless of number of sites or global location.

Furthermore, the solution has been designed to enable staff to make quicker, more informed decisions and optimise asset and operational efficiency throughout the data centre lifecycle.

The ultimate end goal is for data centre providers to deliver a globally consistent experience and further enable the expanding digital infrastructure needs of clients.

According to Schneider Electric and AVEVA, this is a core requirement of hyperscale providers as they come up against greater complexities to operate and maintain facilities during a time of unprecedented changes and challenges.

Schneider Electric executive vice president of the Secure Power Division Pankaj Sharma says, “At a time when the world's digital infrastructure is being pushed to its limits, Schneider and AVEVA are delivering a comprehensive solution for hyperscale data centers to operate and maintain their critical environments.

"The solution can take data that has long been managed at individual data centres, often in siloed sub-systems, normalise it across multiple sites and can ultimately inform and provide enterprise level IT/OT/IoT integration to deliver real-time decision making.

“The complete solution will deliver operational efficiency and a more reliable data centre fleet."

AVEVA CEO Craig Hayman says, “AVEVA and Schneider Electric's unique partnership is already delivering tremendous value for our industrial customers across the board.

"It is a major strategic milestone for us to extend the partnership into new markets and reach more clients, combining AVEVA's strong heritage of delivering end-to-end unified solutions with Schneider Electric's deep data centre expertise and global execution capabilities.

“Our joint customers are empowered by the standardised systems and processes resulting in improved workforce efficiency across multiple sites and the entire enterprise."

Schneider Electric is a multinational company focused on energy and automation digital solutions to boost efficiency and sustainability. It’s main target areas along with data centres are homes, buildings, infrastructure and industries, by combining energy technologies, real-time automation, software and services.

AVEVA is a multinational company with a software portfolio that spans digital transformation, procurement, asset performance, management and control, cloud connections and optimising operations across a wide variety of industries.
